Please be advised that beginning November 19, the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach are expected to start implementing a new Pier Pass program informally dubbed “Pier Pass 2.0,” subject to the conclusion of Federal Maritime Commission review procedures. The change comes in response to requests for increased flexibility in scheduling container pickups, and a reduction of truck congestion around peak hours.
Under the original Pier Pass model, a Traffic Mitigation Fee of $72.09 per TEU was applied only to containers being moved out of truck gates during peak hours. Under the new model, a fee of $31.52 per TEU, and a fee of $63.04 for all other container sizes will be assessed throughout all hours of operation. Additionally, all container pickups will need to be scheduled via an appointment based system.
