Please be advised that on Monday, April 16, PierPass announced a proposal to replace its current model of OffPeak. The new version will leverage an appointment-based system and impose a single flat fee on daytime and nighttime container moves out of the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles as part of a joint effort on mitigating ground traffic and congestion.
The proposed change comes after an 18 month review, analysis and assessment period conducted by PierPass in concert with industry stakeholders and consultants. Pending regulatory approval, the updated OffPeak program is expected to commence in August, 2018. The full press release issues by PierPass can be accessed here.
As always, AGL will continue to monitor and keep you informed of any changes that may impact the efficiency and planning of your supply chain operations. In the meantime, we encourage you to sign up for direct updates from PierPass; a link to register can be accessed here.
