Requirements for Importing Regulated Composite Wood Products

Please note that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) has updated its requirements for importing regulated composite wood products.

As of December 11, the EPA will only recognize composite wood certifications under TSCA Title VI if completed by third party certifiers (TPCs) that are accredited by EPA-recognized ABs.

Also, beginning March 22, 2019, regulated composite wood products and finished goods manufactured in or imported into the United States must be certified as TSCA Title VI compliant by an EPA TSCA Title VI TPC and labeled as such. If requested by the EPA, importers must make available records that document compliance. Importers will also be required to provide a TSCA Section 13 import certification for articles containing regulated composite wood products, component parts, or finished goods imported into the U.S. customs territory.

Further guidance on the requirements for importing regulated composite wood products will be made available by USCBP prior to March 22, 2019.
