How does customs clearance work?

Customs must clear goods before exporters or importers can export or import them. Once cleared, and the payment of duties is confirmed, the shipment can be processed. A customs broker can make this process simple.

Example of the customs clearance process:

  • Verify paperwork is correct.
  • Check that you have paid the appropriate fees, taxes, and duties.
